How airless spray painting works and what it gives you
Latex is sprayed with an airless machine. According to the Graco brochure, such a machine pumps the paint and puts it under pressure, without using air. The paint leaves the nozzle as a fine mist and forms an even layer. You will find more explanation at how latex spraying works.
For the home that means an even finish without roller streaks and without brush marks. In our experience spraying is up to 5 times faster than rolling. A room of 12 to 20 m2 takes 30 to 60 minutes per coat on average. Masking takes the most time, so a prepared, empty room gives the nicest result.
We work with paint from brands such as Sigma Coatings, Caparol and Sikkens, and with Graco equipment. You choose the latex quality yourself: Basic with scrub class 3, Medium with scrub class 2 or High with scrub class 1. Scrub class is the washability rating under NEN-EN 13300, and class 1 is the most washable. An explanation is on scrub class 1, 2 or 3.
