What does it cost to have lacquer sprayed? At Latex-Spuiter.nl an interior door starts from €110, a closed staircase from €650 and an open staircase from €700. Lacquer spraying is bespoke work, so these are guide prices and the exact price is in the quote after a visit. Below you will see the table, four worked examples that we have calculated exactly and a comparison with price guides. Note: those guides are about painting with brush and roller, not about spraying.
"From" prices for lacquer spraying in a table
This is what you can expect from a lacquer sprayer with our method:
| Item | "From" price | How do we determine the exact price? |
|---|---|---|
| Interior door | €110 per door | After a visit, depending on type and condition |
| Closed staircase | €650 | After a visit, depending on size and condition |
| Open staircase | €700 | After a visit, depending on size and condition |
The prices are guide prices. First read the explanation about lacquer spraying to see what the work involves.

What does it cost to have a door sprayed?
Having an interior door sprayed costs from €110 with us. That is a guide price. The exact price depends on the type of door, the state of the lacquer and whether repairs are needed. You can simply add up the number of doors: four doors is 4 times 110, so from €440. The more doors you have done at once, the clearer the quote. At the visit, tell us which doors you want done and whether the frames should be included too, and we will put everything in one price so you know where you stand beforehand.
For comparison, Werkspot mentions €70 to €140 for painting a door, an average of about €100 including VAT, with €70 to €120 for an interior door and €40 to €60 extra for a frame (as of 6 October 2026). That is painting, not spraying, so it is not a direct comparison with our €110.
What does it cost to have a staircase sprayed?
A staircase is more work than a door. We charge from €650 for a closed staircase and from €700 for an open staircase. The exact price follows after a visit, because the number of steps and the state of the wood determine the hours.
For painting a staircase, Werkspot mentions €300 to €800. By size, according to that page, it is €300 to €450 for a small staircase of up to 10 steps, €450 to €650 for a medium one and €650 to €800 for a large staircase (Werkspot, as of 21 August 2026). This too is painting with brush and roller, not spraying. We have not found a reliable price guide specifically for lacquer spraying a staircase.
Comparison: our "from" price next to painting prices
An overview of the figures we have, with sources. Note the difference in method.
| Item | Our "from" price (spraying) | Werkspot (painting) |
|---|---|---|
| Door | from €110 | €70 to €140, interior door €70 to €120 |
| Staircase | closed from €650, open from €700 | €300 to €800 |
| Frame | by agreement | €40 to €60 extra with a door |
Sources: Werkspot, as of 21 August 2026 (staircase) and 6 October 2026 (door). Why might our amount come out higher? A brush and roller price says nothing about a sprayed finish and the masking work that goes with it. So always compare what is in the price.
Worked examples for lacquer spraying: doors and a staircase
Four examples based on our "from" prices. The results are calculated exactly and apply as a lower limit.
| Example | Calculation | Total from |
|---|---|---|
| 4 interior doors | 4 times 110 | €440 |
| 8 interior doors | 8 times 110 | €880 |
| 6 interior doors and a closed staircase | 6 times 110 plus 650 is 660 plus 650 | €1,310 |
| 10 interior doors and an open staircase | 10 times 110 plus 700 is 1,100 plus 700 | €1,800 |
These are examples, not quotes. The exact price is in the quote after the visit.
What does the price of lacquer spraying depend on?
The guide price is a starting point. This determines whether it comes out higher or lower:
- Number and type of doors: a flat door is less work than a panelled door.
- Condition of the wood: repairing holes or old layers takes extra time.
- Size of the staircase: number of steps, spindles and handrail.
- Colour and gloss: an ordinary colour is simpler than a special one.
- Accessibility: a clear staircase is quicker to treat than a staircase with a lot of things around it.
Drying time plays no part in the price, but it does in your planning. With an example such as Flexa Strak in de Lak, the lacquer is overpaintable after 4 hours at 20 degrees and fully cured after 4 days (Flexa data sheet).
Lacquer spraying cost in your municipality
The guide prices are the same across the whole service area: we work within a radius of 30 km around Haarlem. The exact price can differ because of the home, not because of the place. For a number of places we have our own page with figures about the homes, such as latex spraying Heemstede and latex spraying Amsterdam. Whether your address falls within the area, you can see on the page about the service area around Haarlem.
If you want to compare prices from several providers, also read our tips under affordable latex spraying. There we explain where price differences come from. That applies to lacquer just as much: ask what is included, which lacquer is used and what the preparation looks like, and only then compare the amount.
Having lacquer and latex done together
If you also have walls and ceilings done, you will find the prices under latex spraying cost per m2: from €7.95 per m2. An example: 60 m2 in the Basic package is 60 times 7.95, so €477.00, plus 4 doors at €440 makes €917.00 from. That is a worked example, not a quote.
