Latex spraying cost per m2: the three packages
You choose a package based on the latex you want. The difference lies in the quality of the paint and in the scrub class, the degree to which a wall can withstand scrubbing.

The prices are based on light colours and one colour per quote. A lower scrub class number means higher resistance: according to Rawlins Paints, class 1 wears less than 5 micrometres after 200 scrub cycles, class 2 between 5 and 20 micrometres and class 3 between 20 and 70 micrometres. What does a latex sprayer cost per m2 in Haarlem and the surrounding area?
What does a latex sprayer cost per m2? With us, expect an amount between €7.95 and €11.95 per m2, depending on the package. These are "from" prices: at the site visit we look at the surface, the number of m2 and the colour you want, and only then do we make the final quote.
So you pay per m2 of surface and not per hour. That makes comparing easier. If you know roughly the number of m2, you can already work out the amount yourself with the examples below.
Spray painting prices and the price per m2 in Haarlem
If you look for spray painting prices, you will see big differences between providers. That is because not everyone includes the same things. The price difference between latex spraying and rolling cannot be pinned down in a single figure. With rolling you usually pay per hour: Homedeal quotes €35 to €40 per hour for a painter. With spraying you pay per m2. Which way is cheaper depends on the surface area and the preparation.
What is included in the price of your latex sprayer?
With spray work it is important to know what you get for your money. The m2 price includes the following:
- advice on site and a check of the surface
- masking of windows and frames
- small repairs
- hand sanding of walls and ceilings
- filling of all inside corners
- latex spraying in 2 coats
- clearing up and handover
This matters when comparing quotes, because preparation is not part of every offer. So always check whether masking, sanding and filling are included.

The amounts in the last column are the quoted m2 prices times 85. Note that a price guide gives an average for the market, while we work with "from" prices for light colours. So never compare only the number, but also what is included and whether VAT is counted. Werkspot also quotes an example job: 170 m2 of new build with airless latex for €800 to €1,000, which works out at roughly €4.71 to €5.88 per m2.
Cost of latex spraying and VAT
A lower VAT rate (btw) applies to painting a home. According to the Dutch Tax Administration, the 9% rate applies to painting homes that are older than 2 years at the time the work is carried out. The period starts on the date a building is first used as a home.
So for a new-build home or a young home, a different rate can apply. In our quote you always see the VAT amount, so you know what you pay. Unsure about your situation? Discuss it at the site visit or ask the Dutch Tax Administration.
Is airless spraying cheaper than rolling latex?
That cannot be said in one sentence. Spraying is faster: Wagner writes that even beginners apply paint up to four times faster than with a brush or roller. On the other hand, spraying needs preparation, such as masking everything that must not get paint.

What else determines the cost of wall spraying?
Besides the number of m2, a few things play a part in the final price of your spray work:
- Colour: our "from" prices apply to light colours and one colour per quote.
- Surface: Homedeal names a wallpapered or smooth, paint-ready (sausklaar) surface as the preference. If that is missing, extra work may be needed.
- Package: Basic, Medium or High, with scrub class 3, 2 or 1.

Why is your price per m2 sometimes higher than another latex sprayer's?
The difference usually comes down to four things: premium-brand latex (Sigma, Sikkens, Caparol) instead of a budget brand or heavily thinned paint, thorough masking and preparation, the scale of the job and experience with coat thickness and spray pressure.
