Latex spraying on walls gives an even, smooth wall without roller marks. We mask, hand sand, fill all inside corners and then spray two coats of latex. Having walls sprayed costs from €7.95 per m2 with us (Basic), from €9.95 (Medium) or from €11.95 (High).

Spraying wall paint: how we approach walls
Having a wall sprayed does not start with the spray gun, but with preparation. We check the surface, mask windows and frames and, where necessary, cover the floor. Then we hand sand the wall, repair small defects and fill all inside corners.
Only then do two coats of latex follow, with an airless machine. According to Homedeal, after preparing the room the painter applies the paint with an airless latex paint sprayer. That creates an even coat over the whole wall. Because we work room by room, you can use the rooms that are finished again while we are busy in another room. We agree that with you in advance.

Having walls sprayed: requirements for the surface
A sprayed wall only looks good if the surface is good. Homedeal writes that the surface is preferably wallpapered or smooth and ready for paint (what the Dutch call "sausklaar") and that existing texture remains visible. So spraying does not hide irregularities: the texture of the wall shows through.
If you have smooth, paint-ready plasterwork or spray plaster, spraying is ideal. If the wall is rough or damaged, we discuss at the site visit what is needed. Small repairs are in the price; larger work we discuss in advance in the quote.
Want to know what your wall needs? Take a few photos and send them with your request, then we already have a first impression before we come round. A photo does not replace the visit, but it does help in asking the right questions.
Old wallpaper you remove beforehand. If you have a new wall, it has to be sufficiently cured before paint goes on. We have no hard figures of our own on the drying time of new plaster, so ask your plasterer.
Latex spraying on walls: choose your scrub class
The package determines the latex and the scrub class. According to Rawlins Paints, a class 1 paint wears less than 5 micrometres after 200 scrub cycles, class 2 between 5 and 20 micrometres and class 3 between 20 and 70 micrometres. The lower the class, the better the wall withstands scrubbing.
| Package | Latex | Scrub class | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | standard latex | 3 | quiet rooms with few marks |
| Medium | medium latex | 2 | living spaces where you sometimes wipe the wall |
| High | high-end latex | 1 | busy spots, such as a hallway |
The Good for column is our own classification. You can read more about the standards and the choice on scrub class 1, 2 or 3.
Cost of having walls sprayed: worked examples
What does it cost to have walls sprayed? You pay per m2 of surface. Below are three examples with our "from" prices. The amounts have been calculated exactly and serve as an indication.
| Wall surface | Basic (7.95) | Medium (9.95) | High (11.95) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30 m2 | €238.50 | €298.50 | €358.50 |
| 60 m2 | €477.00 | €597.00 | €717.00 |
| 100 m2 | €795.00 | €995.00 | €1,195.00 |
For example: 60 m2 times 9.95 is €597.00. The quote shows the VAT amount (btw); for painting homes older than 2 years the 9% rate applies, according to the Dutch Tax Administration. All the explanation on rates, packages and price guides is on latex spraying cost per m2.
Colours and finish when spraying latex on walls
Our prices are based on light colours and one colour per quote. If you choose a feature wall or a dark colour, that should be in the quote. So say which colours you want when you make your request.
Want the same white on the walls and the ceiling? That works well in one job. Also read the explanation of spray painting ceilings.
A tip for choosing: look at your colour in daylight and in artificial light, and ask for a sample. On the wall a colour always looks different from on a card.
Once your colour is fixed, we note it in the quote. If you change your mind during the work, that affects the schedule and the amount of paint. So decide in advance, also about the walls you might forget, such as a cupboard wall or the wall in the hallway.
Masking, protection and drying time when spraying walls
Because spraying creates mist, we mask frames, windows and other surfaces. Manufacturer Wagner also advises respiratory protection against overspray. That way the rest of your home stays clean.
On drying time: with Sigma Air Pure Supermatt the paint is dry after about 1 hour and overpaintable after 4 hours (23 degrees, 50% humidity). Flexa gives similar values at 20 degrees and says the wall paint may not be applied below 10 degrees. We take that into account for the second coat. So in the cold months put the heating on well in advance, so that the walls and the air in the room are up to temperature. That way the latex dries as the manufacturer intended.
Having walls sprayed or rolling latex?
For one wall, rolling is often enough. For several rooms or a whole floor, spraying pays off, because at the end of the day you have an even wall without roller marks. A detailed comparison is on difference between rolling and spraying.

Frequently asked questions
What does it cost to have walls sprayed?
From €7.95 per m2 (Basic), from €9.95 (Medium) or from €11.95 (High), for light colours and one colour per quote. For 60 m2 that is from €477.00, €597.00 or €717.00. The quote shows the VAT amount.
Can textured walls be sprayed?
Yes, but the texture stays visible, writes Homedeal. Spraying therefore does not make a rough wall smooth. At the site visit we look at the surface.
Can you spray latex on a wall with wallpaper?
The surface should preferably be wallpapered or smooth and paint-ready. Whether you can leave wallpaper on depends on its condition. We assess that on site and discuss it in the quote.
How many coats of latex do you spray on a wall?
Always two coats, after masking, hand sanding and filling all inside corners.
Which scrub class do I choose for my walls?
Class 1 is the most wear-resistant, class 3 the least. Basic is class 3, Medium class 2 and High class 1. For busy spots you choose a lower class number.
Is having walls sprayed more expensive than rolling?
That differs per job. Spraying is faster but needs preparation. Compare quotes on the m2 price and on what is included, such as masking, sanding and filling.
How long does it take for a wall to dry?
Sigma gives dry after about 1 hour and overpaintable after 4 hours at 23 degrees and 50% humidity. Flexa gives similar values at 20 degrees.
Do I have to move my furniture?
Take away small items, art and curtains. Large furniture we move together to one spot or cover. We take care of masking windows and frames. Afterwards we clear up everything and walk through the walls together, so you can pass on small remarks straight away.
Can I have walls and ceiling sprayed at the same time?
Yes, that is practical. We mask once and spray all surfaces in the same job. The same m2 prices apply to ceilings.
How do I request a quote for wall spraying?
Use the form on the contact page or call or WhatsApp +31 6 38048347. We look at the walls on site and send a quote including the VAT amount.
